Winter Fun Guide for Uniontown, PA and Surrounding Areas

You can have fun even when it's cold and snowy out!

By Kayla Hawley | Uniontown Macaroni KID Publisher January 1, 2024

Is there anything quite like sledding or snowball fights as a kid? There is freshly fallen snow, school was canceled, and you KNOW it's time to go outside. I have fond memories of playing in the snow, and as much as I hate the cold, I find myself bundling up to take my kids out to spend precious quality time together.

  • Chestnut Ridge Park - Bruceton Mills, WV - When snow sledding is available, they also have a snow maker to create additional snow for more fun.
  • Ohiopyle State Park - Ohiopyle, PA - Ohiopyle maintains a hill by the Sugarloaf snowmobile and mountain bike area. There's a warming hut and restrooms available.

  • Laurel Hill State Park- Somerset, PA - Sledding hill located in the field loop area of the campground. There's a fire pit and wood for sledders to use, it is lit until 9 pm on the weekends. Weather permitting.

  • Elizabeth Anna Peach-Bolish Winter Sports Area (Twin Lakes) - Greensburg, PA - Sled at your own risk; sleds are not provided. Small covered shelter and fire provided. There are three sledding and tubing runs available.
